About Us
My family business dates back to 1981. I began meat cutting in my parents grocery store more than twenty years ago. My family decided to move to Barrie. We had all the necessities of life needed but lack of a small town community. With the opportunity to move back to be closer to our families and the chance to have a small business; Shanahan’s Quality Meats officially opened May 3, 2010. Located in the down town square, Goderich Ontario "The prettiest Town in Canada". In the same spot my parents started out.

Now in my thirties and a young family of my own I have come to appreciate the "small business" man and the pride they take on serving the consumer. Big box stores are convenient. Factory farming produces high quantity but lack quality. We aim to restore an area of the food industry that has wrongfully disappeared. Butchery requires a great deal of knowledge as well as experience. We are your new good ‘old fashion butcher shop with some new twists.

What you eat is a personal choice. Shanahan’s Quality Meats is a family owned and operated business. Specializing in quality, locally raised meats. All meats are cut in-store with a 20-foot packaged counter and a 12-foot service counter to choose your cuts or request custom cuts. Our deli counter contains local deli meats as well as old time favourites. We do not pre slice, guaranteeing freshness. In store bakery has many varieties of fresh baked breads and buns. We have a large cheese counter with local cheeses, Canadian chesses and specialty cheeses. Our gourmet specialty items are forever growing, everything you need , from BBQ Sauces to Pasta, Local honey and Maple syrup.

Shanahan’s Quality Meats will strive to continue: From the farm to the table- Great quality, healthier choices, local suppliers and very competitive pricing. We are a proud sponsor for Kyle Stanbury of the Lakers AAA Hockey Team. Supporting the community, and now offering fundraising opportunities for schools and sports teams.
